Has to be the St. Louis Cardinals. They've won the second-most World Series titles and probably have had more great players, other than the Yankees, than any team in history. Guys like Rogers Hornsby, Dizzy and Daffy Dean, Pepper Martin, Joe "Ducky" Medwick, Stan Musial, Johnny Mize, Enos Slaughter, Marty Marion, Lou Brock, Curt Flood, Bob Gibson, Mark McGwire, and Albert Pujols, to name a few. Outside of the Yankees, St. Louis has had more Hall of Famers than any other team. I'd call that a storied franchise.

I'd have to say the Cubs. They have one of the oldest franchises and still have only won two World Series (1907/1908)! Everybody keeps talking about how long its been since they've won or been in the World Series. They have the oldest and most beautiful stadiums in the league with Wrigley Field and the tradition and loyalty of Cubs fans, Wrigley Field, and the city of Chicago is like no other. Add on the fact that they just spent more money than other team this offseason and the Cubs definitely have the most storied franchise outside of the Yankees. The only team that even comes close to matching the Cubs and Yankees are the Boston Red Sox with Fenway Park.

I would definetly have to say the Reds, Opening day in Cincinnati is a holiday, the entire city shuts down. Not to mention the fact that they were baseball's first franchise, were at the winning end of the 1919 Black Sox scandal, played host to the youngest pitcher ever in MLB history "Joe Nuxhal" ,had arguably the greatest dynasty ever assembled in the Big Red Machine and won the 1990 world series in a sweep in a season they never trailed at any point during the regular season.

Both the Cubs and the Red Sox are very storied franchises. Especially the Red Sox. When their owner sells Babe Ruth to the Yankees, Boston doesnt win one for 86 more years, but the Yanks win 26 World Series.

I would have to say the Cardinals and the Dodgers. If you look into history, these two times fought throughout the 40s for dominance in the NL. They also played the first playoff in MLB history in 1946, which the Cardinals won. Also, if you go in order of number of series won, Cardinals are second to the Yankees and the Dodgers are tied for 3rd since the RedSox won in 04.

It is very close, but I would say the Dodgers. The Dodgers have had some major successes in their history, with six Worlds Series titles, twenty National League Titles, twenty-six post-season appearances, with an additional 4 times appearing in a playoff decider.
The Dodgers have a lot of history. From the Brooklyn days as both comicly bad team and a great team. They were the 1st team to play an African-American player(Jackie Robinson). They were the 1st team to play on the West Coast. The have had the greatest athlete of Jewish heritage(Sandy Koufax). The greatest announcer in sports history in Vin Scully. Legendary managers in Walter Alston and Tommy Lasorda. And their uniform color of a bright royal blue, is generally referred to as Dodger Blue.

The most STORIED MLB franchise has to be the Dodgers. They were cross town rivals with the Giants back in the Brooklyn days. Broke the color barrier with Jackie. Brought baseball to the west coast (and their rivalry with the Giants). Star after star has played for them throughout the years. Koufax, Drysdale and least we forget Gibson's 1 legged walk off HR for one of baseball's greatest moments.

The Brooklyn now LA Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox. They are both famous due to heated rivalries vs. the Yankees.

I would have to say the Cardinals and the Dodgers because they have been around for a long time and they both won 10 World Series Championships. To add, the Dodgers have retired the most numbers in the National League.
