I've been out of school for 11 years, but could not resist answering this. My favorite subject was always history. Even now, I study it on my own. History was always my favorite because it is the only thing that can put me into contact with previously lost people and civilizations. Without history, the world as it is now wouldn't make a lot of sense to me. I always have to know where something came from and why it developed the way it did. History also has this uncanny way of repeating itself, so it's a benefit to learn from the mistakes and successes of people long dead. Without the past, there can be no future.
EDIT: My second favorite subject was English, particularly spelling and grammar. I know it seems interesting to misspell things and easier to make shortcuts, but it does tend to make one appear less intelligent. You've asked an intelligent question, but the lack of capitalization, the abbreviation of the words "favorite" and "why," along with the misspelling of "what's" and "school" make it appear lacking.
Incidentally, there was a time when no one would have pounced on you for these errors. Proper spelling and grammar only became standardized a few paltry centuries ago. That's why a lot of medieval documents are so hard to read. People just spelled things like they sounded and it was all good. Alas, you were born several centuries too late.
