you'll need to get a recommendation from a business in Uruguay. You will then have to apply for a work permit via the Uruguayan embassy which can take several months to process. Informal employment like you can find in Australia and New Zealand is not available in Uruguay. If you have a teaching qualification, English teaching would be a definite possibility. If not try looking at voluntary opportunities. I know green volunteers lists opportunities to volunteer in Uruguay. just google it. good luck.
