Because the Kyoto Treaty is designed to extort money from the United States and give it to third world countries.
It has nothing to do with science, only polotics.
That's why the U.S. did not sign on.

The US has had the eonomic advantage of burning fossil fuels for the last 100 years, and has emitted the greatest amount of CO2 over that time. Cheap energy has supported our standard of living.
Over the same 100 years, China and India have not polluted like the US has. They do not want to be denied the opportunity for cheap energy to assist in their rapid development, raising profits and living standards.
At the same time many countries think China and India should now have an economic advantage, they also think the US should be punished. Not only for past pollution, but also by being the strongest most successful country, the US ellicits this response.
In trying to regulate pollution, the Kyoto accord will not consider the re-absorption of CO2 by our forests. It would be interested in seeing an evaluation of total pollution which includes re-absorption factors.

You have ventured into the great paradox of Kyoto. If this treaty were really about the environment all would be treated equally. Since they are not it begs the question. What is it about? The answer is punishing certain developed nations. You know it doesn't matter if you believe in Global Warming or not because that is another debate, but all people should be suspicious of the motivation behind this treaty and be very thankful that the United States has repeatedly refused to sign.

it type of feels Kyoto Protocol is old. CO2 emissions have more effective significantly. Steps should be taken to modify Kyoto Protocol with something extra proper for the destiny. on the topic of India's take, India ought to observe the reactions of different international locations and then react. that is what i imagine.

BTW saying no to Kyoto was a good idea. They wanted us to cut our gas consumption back to what it was in the early 90's. All we'd have t odo is let Californis cede from the union LOL!

Simple.
"Man made" global warming is pure politics. If they felt this was truly a doom and gloom issue it would be a world issue, not just the United States
