Do you receive a reply when you write to them?

Have they ever acted on one of your suggestions?

Has a change of political party (if they are acting under one) made a difference?

Mine is North Tyneside and its excellent. They always reply to my emails (I don't write, stamps are expensive) within 24 hours usually - unless its a weekend. They are very informative. I feel really looked after where I live. We're just getting loads of new street lights merely because they think its safer for us to have white lights than orange. They always collect larger items that I want rid of on time and as promised. They keep my local area clean and tidy, tending to all the barron land - they've recently planted a load of new trees. And! They've given me two new wheelie bins without any quabbles! (One was stolen, the other was burnt on bonfire night! haha). I've applied for a few jobs at the council and they have always written to me telling me that I've been unsucessful - which is quite rare for employers it seems.

Have had very little dealings with my council. On the whole they're doing a good job and do not waste money on 'junk ideas' but spend it wisely where it's needed most, taking care of our elders, the poor and needy and so on. There maybe pot-holes in the road but none of our citizens is allowed to starve or freeze.

Where is this 'heaven on earth'? Londinium - where else.

Our city council is very good, generally you get responses, but the different department heads and staff are boiled over in controversy in the last couple of months, so now a different mayor is in and so will create a challenge as how he will solve the problems

Awesome! It's the cheapest in the area ratewise. I've just filled in a detailed questionnaire asking me if there are any problems in my street need fixing, if all requests for urgent services have been met (yes, they fixed a hole outside my house in two days), and asking for feedback on re-cycling etc.

No complaints at all and the council are not even the party that I support, so good on em!!
(UK by the way)

My City Council is very good. Councillors generally have a high profile and the Council is accessible and has a positive outlook.

in hardship-free words Unison were given fifty 5% vote in favour of strike action, TGWU were given seventy 5%. less than inflation pay rises for over 10 years! we are not speaking about wealthy people. for most council workers, the biggest pay upward push grow to be the creation of the minimum salary!!!!!
