i need more people's views on whether they believe in God or not????

I believe there is a God but not in the stereotypical way
God is supposed to be all-loving, all knowing, all-powerful and we are His children, but He doesn't stop evil and suffering in this world, which He would if he loved us and was powerful enough to do so
I know some people answer this with that He gave us free will so if He stepped in he would be undermining this, but this sounds like an excuse to me. And the answer that God cannot promise happiness in the first life only in the second also gives out this message.
The bible contradicts itself alot aswell and I think it is taken too seriously. It says an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth, then it says that we should forgive and forget. The creation story is also contradictory in some parts.
I don't think God is an actual figure, He is more of an idea for people to have faith in to get them through bad times, for people to talk to (through prayer) and to explain issues that cannot be answered.

I believe in God but I don't believe there is one "right" religion. I believe there is something in every religion that makes up the right religion but that's another topic. I believe in god because I believe in myself (Phil. 4-13 tattooed on my shoulder). I believe in dreams and in life. I believe that we are here for a purpose and that is to continue our families to have children and some have even higher purpose such as helping people, healing people, changing the world for the better, or just testing the limits... questioning why. I believe in God because I believe life is a test.. and what you make of it is up to you, you can do whatever you want so many temptations? (in the back of your mind you can know its wrong... why?) We are not taught everything that's right and everything that's wrong.. you just know. You just feel! Pain and suffering is just another test! The trials and tribulations we go through only make us stronger to face greater challenges. Sometimes I really don't think people realize how much of an effect we have on other people life's, the people around us, or people we just run into. I believe in faith and hope. Really you have to find your own reasons you have to make it make sense to you. I believe because it helps me make it through my day. To know how I treat people and the things I do will be rewarded later in life or in a better place and have you ever heard of what goes around comes around... why is this? Vengeance is mine said the lord- That's just how I feel

I have very light skin. Its soft...when I put moisturizer on it, otherwise its sort of dry. I have a few freckles (like 5) across the top part of my nose. I have in-the-middle-leaning-towards-bad skin pimple wise, and I swear the face washes that claim to make them go away hate me, because they don't work. =\ At least the cover-up works well... I'm a leo with a leo rising =]

I do NOT beleive in God, cause if he say how screwed up this world is and really loved us as the bible says, he would fix it. Plus if you read the bible it is FULL if contradictions. A great peice of fiction I will grant you that, but nothing more.

i do. i was born and raised christian, and i dont know anything different. i believe in god because it just makes sense to me. reading the bible helps me understand more of what i believe in, and helps me with other things also.
