Oil. That's why we're there. But that's not what the government told us. They said things like "weapons of mass destruction," "free the Iraqi people," and "Saddam's a murdering f@ckhead." What they meant was "there's gold in them thar hills...black gold, and it's ours for the takin'." There were no WMDs. The Iraqi people were a heck of a lot freer before we created this civil war within their country. And, yeah, Saddam was a murdering f@ckhead, but we never cared before. We were content to let him kill his own people until he decided he wanted euros instead of US dollars in the UN oil for food program. After that, we decided to cut out the middle man, i.e. Saddam, and get the oil for ourselves. Then...propaganda, propaganda, propaganda...and, BAM, we're at war.

They're not, is the short answer. There is an elected government in Iraq which certain tribes are refusing to accept. They are behind the bombings - this often happens when a dictator is overthrown. People struggle for power.
So America supports the elcted government of Iraq.
Martin Luther King did not go around bombing people - his reasonableness and high moral standing won respect. The situation in Iraq is different as the enemy is not the government, but within the people.

Quite literally, it is not the US and Iraqi's that are fighting. The majority of the fighting going on is between Coalition Forces (CF) with the help of the Iraqi Army (IA) and foreign fighters, Syrians, Iranians...Many weapons being used are being supplied from Iran as is proven by the serial numbers that we pull off of them.
The fight is for a free and independant Iraq that is a democratic republic.
(yes, and the answer previous to mine was written by a crazy dogmatic koolaid drinker)

Back then like around 1999, saddam husdea, would go around killing people, and he would sometimes tell people to get the hell outta their houses (ordered the soilders to do that)
Also he would allow bombers, and terriosts to kill ppl all they wanted, there was no free will, no freedom...
United states got tired of that, and USA asked them to stop. They reufused, now we're at war.
Them Terriosts took over planes, and crashed into the tallest tower in USA, saddam said he thought that it would upset the united states.
If i was martin Luther King, and still living, i would make alot of speech, and of crouse,do march of freedoms if nesscary. Honest truce are also nesscary if needed.
Martin Luther King jr woulnd't be involved in this, he did that because he wantted black freedom, and no more racism.

It's who the Iraqi and US governments are fighting. The elected governments of both countries are not fighting each other. They are fighting thugs who just want chaos.

It's because of 9/11.
Not because the Iraquis were involved in that - because they weren't. But that's the reason
