Do you think Final Fantasy 7 was the most overrated Final Fantasy ever?

I think for many RPG noobs, FF7 was their first RPG and they swear by it. But I'll tell you right now that Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6 and the very underrated Xenogears were way better than FF7. Though FF7 was a good game....

well dragon_summoner1988 I beg to differ. I think the Xenogears story is much more deeper than Final Fantasy 7. FF7 was basically a rebel group going up against this evil corporation in which Cloud had some ties to tie and by the way they kill Aeris which was supposed to be this shock, but whatever.

Xenogears was a much more adult story dealing with philosophy, love, psychology and religion. It even had references to Carl Jung (i.e. Id, Ego, Super Ego) and wasn't afraid to touch religion. That's why I like Xenogears better. Not to mention the battle system is more fun than FF7s. Limit breaks--who hoo.

Xenogears was by far the gayest game I've played dude. you need to play Final Fantasy from the very beginning to love the FF games. Just because some like's them doesnt make them a noob because I can bet alot of them have played games where they can tear you apart and your the noob. So I mean FF7 had a good story line like all of them some parts may have been overrated, but you gotta be a big time gamer to really understand which no offense is not you. I've played FF6 and Xenogears , FF6 is my favorite, but xenogears I could'nt get into because a lot of screw ups in the game.

But hey everyone's entitled to their opinion and I can have a good debate with you on game :).

FF7 kicked as s!! I still have my original copy. I'll buy FF13 when it comes out, though i don't have as much time to play like i used to. The latest ones are more of an eye candy.
