Dont you mean if the drug war ended today how many lifes would be saved, how many childrens futures would be spared? How much crime would be reduced. And there are plenty of jobs if we send illegals home.

We would not need to loose any jobs. Sure we would not need as much law enforcement but it could be moved to other areas(border, violent crime etc) ON the other hand we would gain jobs in the agriculture sectors. We could reallocate the resources instead of eliminating them, remember if drugs were legal there would be a huge new tax base to draw from that would cover retraining or moving resources.

Lots of people. But they could find something else to focus on. You know, something important like border control and terrorism. They could start tracking down illegal aliens like they do pot dealers/smokers.
EDIT - Only legal legitimate jobs would be lost. People working for the DEA especially. We'll just change their name to the BEA (Border Enforcment Agency)

I am not sure how many but a lot but also a lot of our respectable citizens will loose a lot of Money every year that they make from this under the table trade. But for sure the Jails will be almost empty and crime rate will fall dramatically.
