How to find a normal friend in a new city?

Im living in beijing already a few months but still cannot find any friends here!!!!! Im so boring!!!!!!
I tried to find a friend from the internet but it didnt work, beside the fact that my chinese is not so good, think lil bit more and i will start to talk with myself in the mirror :-p

Try volunteering. If you get actively involved in some kind of charity, or just something your interested in, you'll get to meet people who most likely share a similar interest in whatever you help out with. Plus, they are volunteering, so that also says something about their character...

That's how I usually meet people when I move to a new city - get involved in an activity. Beats going the bar scene alone!

Friends take time. Do not look on the internet, you may not know who they really are i.e. don't believe everything a faceless person on a keyboard tells you. I moved to Florida a few years ago, and it was hard. I used my spare time doing things alone, which was kind of akward, but I met casual aquaintances so at least had someone to talk to . I took up a ceramic class, bowling, joined a reading group at the library, started flea marketing to get out of the house. Keep yourself busy, friendship will come.. be patient. I have many aquaintances, but only a half a dozen friends. Good luck and be patient, good things come to those that wait.

it all depends on what you consider normal. I feel we are all weard in our own little ways that what makes us special.....
