I hope someone can help me, my father was seriously ill and to be honest no one thought he would make it, on the night that we were not sure he was going to get through he had a dream and would like to know what it meant.
He dreamt that he was in Italy with my mother sitting on a hilly slope when he looked behind him there was a woman standing there (he could not tell who it was as the features were blurred) then two tables appeared, one full of strawberries and cream and all sorts of deserts and another with cold meats, the woman came forward and was surrounded by a lot of people (none of which he could see properly) and she said to him "grandpa did not let you go last time and wont let you go this time. when he turned to my mother she asked him a question of some sort and when he turned back the woman and all the people were gone, my mother never noticed them there When the Dr's came in the morning he had made a miraclas recovery and is coming out of hospital next week, Any Ideas?

People in our "past lives" as well as deceased relatives and spirit guides can all play a part in our present lives. There are such things as death omens, and some families have these very strongly - for example, woman of a particular lineage may always have a dream of a black crow the week before a family member dies.

In your case, it doesn't sound like any sort of death omen (obviously). It sounds like to me that there is some spiritual connection your has with this mysterious woman in the dream. She could be a relative or a spirit guide, but her message was clearly to state that it's not his time to go, and that spiritual forces were at work to make sure that he didn't go before his time. It is not uncommon for spirits to come in fuzzy, or sounding high-pitched, as they are on a different plane of existence from us, after all.

It is believed that we all have some sort of plan on this earth. We're here to learn and accomplish certain things, and those on "the other side" will guide us and in some cases make sure that we are here to fulfill our destiny.

You may want to consider picking up a dream book to interpret the smaller things. Everything can have a meaning, even the strawberries. However keep in mind that no dream book can tell you 100% what a dream means FOR YOU. Dreams are very individualized.

You'll be surprised, uniquewoman, to know that "what people think as dreams are nothing more than the survival instinct exhibited by the self to wake himself up because some of his body parts have got badly pressed due to wrong posture, and blood is not being circulated in some crucial sections.", says one of my friends, who is actually much elder to me, whom I had 'met' in this forum some 4 days ago. He also said, " At this moment, brain is sleeping, and had gone to sleep by handing over the keys to the spinal chord. The spinal chord is not given the reliability to completely manage the show when brain is busy or fast asleep. Spinal chord goes into serious trouble, and just plunges and resurfaces back with all kinds of stored FEAR files whereby the self can be woken up against this survival threat. The most fearing file (child once fell from tree or child is being beaten up), depending upon the severity of blood blockage, is flashed on the brain/spinal screen for the self to vaguely assess the danger. The assistance of spinal chord is not memorable in precise sequences. That is all about dreams."

But regarding what your father saw in that dream, I wo'nt be able to say what it meant precisely; I'll only be able to speculate about the possible meanings. And I've written down here only what I think could be the most probable one.

First of all, I'd like to ask you, did your father go through a phase or illness once before, when you thought he would'nt be able to make it? If the answer is yes, then I think your father is one of the luckiest persons I've heard of. You see, you said that in the dream, a woman said to your father, "..................grandpa did not let you go last time and wont let you go this time." I think what this means is that 'grandpa' saved your father on both occasions. I did not believe in supernatural phenomena always, but after I started watching programs like 'A Haunting', 'America's Most Haunted Places', etc., I started believing in them. And I think this is one such phenomenon. You know what I mean? Otherwise what could the phrase, "..................grandpa did not let you go last time and wont let you go this time.", mean? I just do'nt understand.

But anyway, this is only what I feel. This necessarily need not be correct. But I'd advise you not to ever discuss this matter with your father. I hope you understand why................

It may be an out of body experience. It could be your father passed away, or had a near death experience. He went to the other side, but it was not his time,,,"grandpa did not let you go last time and wont let you go this time". Is your mother still alive? His bond to her sounds very strong. The people he saw, or tried to see were probably all predeceased relatives, ready to help him cross over, but it was not his time to go. This is a good dream, if it was that. He glimpsed what is waiting for him. All the love that went before him is waiting on the other side, but he still has much love to give here. I am happy for you.

The ran a survey in Guine, Africa, on the fishermen in the 1930's as to their susceptability to cancer. It was found that it was very low compared to that of westerners. When the doctor's son, also a doctor, running the survey went back to Guine, in the '90s, they found it was now the same. The only difference in their lives was that they now all wore sun glasses. Clothes food, lifestyle; nothing else had changed in the mean time. It is thought by blocking the eyes requirment of sun light it upped the cancer risk. Maybe the sunny scene triggered something in his memory and started his own bodies self healing process.

His desire to remain on Earth with his Wife, although threatened by his physical condition (symbolized by being on a slope vs. secure terrain, i.e. a position from which he could roll off into death), supported the physiological changes that were healing, and Mother Earth brought him Food of Life, and told him that his God (grandfather symbol) said he will remain here with his desire to remain on earth with his wife.
