Just get a pipe, you will be much happier smoking a pipe anyway.

Yes, you can, though you may not like the results. Pipe tobacco, unlike cigarette tobacco, comes in a variety of cuts, some of which will roll fairly well and others which would be almost impossible to roll, or to draw through if you could. Cigar tobacco is generally left in flat, broad cuts, to roll rather than pack like a cigarette or a pipe.

Also keep in mind that pipe tobacco is not meant to be inhaled. Unlike cigarette tobacco smoke, which is acidic, pipe and cigar tobacco smoke is alkaline. This makes it more readily absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth and nose but less readily in the lungs. It also tends to make it feel harsher when inhaled.

Also, cigarette tobacco is chemically treated to make it stay lit easily, while pipe tobacco isn't. This is because pipes are meant to be smoked slowly, and having the tobacco burn hot & fast goes against this, as well as potentially damaging the pipe.

Pipe tobacco DOES come in a huge range of flavors, which you might enjoy, and is often quite economical compared to cigars and cigarettes, and you might try it despite what I've said and find you enjoy it -- I've known others who did. But it's really meant to be smoked in a pipe, and that's how you're likely to find the most pleasure in it.

I've been rolling "Prince Albert" for years. You'll find it's a bit harder to roll because Pipe tobacco is Crimp-cut [very small pieces] where as cigarette tobacco is More stringy, which helps to hold it together while rolling. So knowing this, I say go for it.

It can be done, it just needs to be rolled a little loose cause pipe tobacco is usually kinda moist.
