Going to japan for a week. I'll be in Toyko for 2 nights, Hakone for 1 night, Kyoto 2 nights, Osaka 1 night. Most my days are filled but my nights should be free. I like to drink so bar recommendations and other suggestions welcomed.

Tokyo -
Hit the bars in Roppongi / Ebisu / Aoyama.
Or head on down to Shibuya for night clubs and bars. (Roppongi also has a whole bunch of nightclubs)
Shinjuku also has some fun things to see in Kabukicho and you can walk down to Shin-Okubo area to check out Korea Town.
Fun things to see.
Watch out for the last train (usually around or before midnight. But varys depending on which line you're using) unless your hotel is walking distance from where you are hanging out. (Maybe a good idea to get some info from the hotel frot desk about the surrounding neighborhood. Or do some research on the internet before you get too drunk)

Hakone I'm not sure. As you know it's a onsen (Hot spring) area and I'm sure there's lots to do but the impression I had when I went 8 yrs ago is that stores close pretty early. Maybe best to chill and relax in your room. Or try out the hot tubs as many times as you want. (When I go to onsen I usually give it an hour in between and hit the tubs 3 times in the AM and 3 times in the PM.)

Kyoto -
Hit the bars and night clubs in Kawaramachi / Shijo / Shin-Kyogoku. Lots to do and lots to see.
Try eating some Udon (Flour noodles) while in Kyoto. They're really good....but not a very western taste.
Also have Yatsuhashi.

Osaka -
Hit Namba station and an area called Dotonbori. Always lots of people and lots of great places to eat. Try an Okonomiyaki while you're in Osaka.
They're out of this world.

Hope that helps. Have fun!

The only places I can suggest are in Tokyo, Roppongi is the 'party' district, where the night life is, I didn't visit there while I was over there. Be aware however that the night life starts ending around 10 pm usually so people can ride the trains back to their homes. (trains only run to 1 am, taxis are hellishly expensive, and most people don't own cars)

Depends what your fancy is...

Would be helpful to know say, for example, what music you're into... Generally, Roppongi is a great place to go... AWESOME nightclubs in Tokyo, Japan generally actually (in the metro cities that is!!)

If you're coming loaded, check out (just in the name of fun and being there) - a hostess club or bar... Maybe one of the very few countries in the world where businessmen go to have a friendly chat to good looking girls, drink lots, but 'no extra favours'.. (Usually that is!!) Hehehehe.

Have to pay to sit down though!! ;)
