How bewildering so many of you think it is a *Stereotype* in defining a man and a woman's role in life...

Women have hormones and endure pain in childbirth men could never tolerate. First let me say thier are great men and women on this planet but there are also major differences. GAY men say they are born this way WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Meaning you have more estrogen than TESTOSTERONE the MAJOR SEX Hormone in Men?

Men through time have had sex with sheep visit whorehouses, have multiple sex partners and don't eqate sex with love.
Women can be very sexual as well but they usually always eqate sex with love and become more sexual with thier partners when ovulating which is bilogical so they can be im-pregnated.

How bizarre most of you think when it comes to men and women. Science and Religion will tell you time and time again the most well adjusted people in life are the ones who have been raised by the wonderful influence a father and mother can bring to a child.

It's even sadder listening to someone like you continue to spout that 1950's dogma as some sort of truth.
That whole birth spiel is simply a silly straw-man argument and you know it. The only reason people like you use it is because you know there is no way to prove it. I have a very high pain tolerance. Is mine higher than yours? There isn't any actual way to compare so your argument is pointless.

Women have had the same sexual "adventures" as men. Women hire gigolos, have more than one sexual partners and affairs, perform in "donkey shows" and use sex as a means to get what they want. Your gender is hardly as pure and benevolent as you attempt to portray them to be.

How bizarre you are when it comes to dealing with people. You still expect the man to cut the lawn while you make lemonade. Science has shown that children raised by same-sex parents are just as well adjusted as their peers. Religion is not an accurate form of any sort of measure as to the adjustment of an individual and actually many more maladjusts use religion as a reason to back up their bigoted and anti-social behavior that are proven to be a danger to society. Remember David Koresh? How about Jim Jones and Marshall Applewhite? They used religion as a method of control and influence, we all know how well that played out.

Sorry hon, your rants are nothing more than additional stereotyping backed up with little more than superstition. Why don't you go outside and see what the real world is all about?

Oh, Marie. I can't get a read on you; you write eloquently and seem to have this stuff on the brain, but you're not exactly being antagonistic. I just want to know what you want to get out of asking this question.

Anyhow, yes, men are usually more sex-driven because of their amount of testosterone and male socialization which teaches boys that masculinity and virility is equated with sexual conquest and encourages them to be sexual. However, I think that women are just as capable of being as sexual creatures, despite not having rampant amounts of testosterone; I think that female sexual socialization has a lot to do with it. But yes, on a whole, women do tend to relate sex more with emotion.

And no, when people say they are born gay, they don't mean they have hormonal imbalances. They are alluding to a gay gene in their DNA makeup. I myself don't believe that sexual orientation is a genetic trait (but it's definitely not a conscious choice, either), or if there is a genetic component, then it's not just that which determines sexuality, but a complex interaction between genetics, environment, childhood, psychology, personality, and more. But all the studies I've read have shown that gay men and lesbians have completely normal levels of estrogen and testosterone, just like heterosexual men and women. I know you said in another answer that there are studies saying the opposite; would you message me where I might find them? I'm always intrigued to read the latest research.

Anyhow, as for 'the most well adjusted people in life are the ones who have been raised by the wonderful influence a father and mother can bring to a child', I just don't think I agree. I highly think this is going to depend on the people involved, be they gay, straight, whatever. Once again, I'd like to see the scientific studies that 'prove' this. And as for religion . . . well, religion tells us a lot of things. Wasn't too long ago that some religions were quite fond of cannibalism and human sacrifice. Anything that I believe in religion (things like not stealing, lying, committing adultery, being kind to one another) are all things I believe because I can attest to their morality in the secular world, too. So I don't care what religion has to say about how to raise a family, because outside of a religious sphere, all I see is good things happening from children raised in the variety of non-traditional households: single parents, amicably divorced parents, gay parents, etc..

Hope that helps.

Just pointing out to everyone that Marie here doesn't speak for all of us straights. In fact, I'm straight and I disagree with everything said here.

Women and men are alike, but the differences you mention here are learned, not innate. Many men equate sex with love, and many women have sex for fun without any strings. And for some of us, the word 'impregnate' is possibly the least-sexy word in the entire language. For a while my husband and I discussed whether or not we would have children. I pointed out that it wouldn't be practical because I hate them and would end up in prison for infanticide after a few months. He'd be a better caregiver, but he makes more money so it would be impractical for me to be the breadwinner (especially given that I wouldn't want to deal with the child after work and on weekends).

The differences you keep mentioning are all learned differences, and thankfully our culture is evolving so that we can accept women who want to go into combat and fight for their country and men who want to stay home and cook.

Science will also tell you that the most well adjusted people are those who have been raised in loving environments, regardless of the gender makeup of those environments. If they have issues, it's thanks to people like you.

My mother is a widow. My father died when I was seven and my brother was just a month old. My mom decided she wasn't going to bring just any man into the house, and therefore didn't remarry even though she had offers. She raised us on her own.

This stuff bothers me and really bothers my brother. One day in the mall, a couple of men were talking like this, loudly. He asked them to stop. They kept going. He decked one of them.

The more you keep going, the more other anti-gay people keep going, the more I understand how my brother felt. You are writing a whole bunch of people off, and you don't even know or care. You aren't just writing off gays, even though that's bad enough. It's sad, it's sorry, it sucks.

Ummm, if women weren't prostitutes int he first place then HETEROSEXUAL men wouldn't buy them.

I don't care what your problem is with heterosexual men, their your problem. Lesbians don't care either. Why are you preaching to gays and lesbians about the mental condition you've driven your heterosexual men to through your constant nagging?

Come down off the pedestal, you aren't that special.

Why don't you just: get educated, stop pressing your beliefs on others, and think about how unintelligent you make yourself sound before posting another ignorant and bigoted 'question' ?
