Contests? You're better off looking locally at trusted shops in your area OR with large national retailers.
Most of the sites on the net, unless they are run by otherwise respected companies running promotions are either scams or require you to do an extreme amount of work. Those that promise free laptops for signing up for free trials? They work, but it'll take a lot of effort. You'd be better of getting a part time job. In the same number of hours, you'd be able to buy the laptop. For real.
And you won't have to deal with the spam.
And you'd have a job to put on a resume.

By the time you actually get to a point where you could win a laptop from a contest, you could have gotten a job and worked for 6-8 months and made enough money to buy one.
