or are they about the same weather wise. please id your sources because i'm arguing with someone about this now...

Chicago is a litle cooler than NY because of the lake effect. NY city has more greenhouse gases caused by transportation (public and private) and it locks in the heat more.

Chicago is typically much colder than New York in the winter, but the weather is similar in the summertime. Chicago gets much more Arctic air in the winter than New York. The average winter temperature in Chicago is almost 10 degrees colder than New York.

i live in madison wi and it seems to me that chicagos weather ( 3 hours south) is really very very similar to ours. so what is warmer new york or southern wisconsin? of course new york is very well known has a scorching climate in the summer, chicago is more moderate summers usually not much over 90 on any given day.
