It's normal, hormones, pesky little hormones are racing through you right now. Some effect more than others, while some don't even get bothered by it. Everyones different, but being emotional, is nothign new int he world of pregnancy.
I'd still talk to you doctor about it though just to make sure you aren't getting too depressed.
Also try eating some bright colored foods, like your fruits! It's the natural way to give your mood a boost with fresh sweet taste and healthy vitamins that charge you up. Orange juice even. Though it doesn't always work, but give it a try, make sure your getting those extra nutrients, some depression does come from what you eat. But when your pregnant, that along strinly along does it by itself.
So take care of yourself, if all else fails, give yoruself a real boost with some dark chocolate and sit back and relax. Food really does help sometimes, other times it doesn't do a thing, I'm not judging what ever your eating just letting you know what worked for me and a few others I've talked with.
But do, talk with your doctor.
Good luck, and again, take care!

The hormones of pregnancy can really do a number on us. It's possible to have antepartum depression, which would be kind of like postpartum depression only it happens before the baby is born. It might be good to talk to your doc. There are also probably online support groups which can be so helpful.
Pregnancy is a major life-change. So much is going on inside your body and mind. It's normal to have ups and downs, sometimes in nearly the same moment! If your gut tells you that this is something more than just ordinary hormonal surges, then do talk to someone, especially other pregnant moms.
Hang in there.

Yes, it's normal, and yes, you should talk to your doc. Your hormones are going crazy right now. It should start to normalize (less crying and mood swings) around 16 weeks or so. The mood swings will probably not go away completely, but you'll be more in control of them. If it doesn't, talk to your doc. He may prescribe an antidepressant to help. And don't worry, the doctor won't prescribe anything that will hurt the baby.

Your body is changing, and the hormones are going crazy.
You should talk to your Dr about it, and let him/her know what you're feeling. It's not a bad thing, but it's something that you should make a note of.
You might also want to talk to your dr about post partum depression.
It's not something you would be feeling now, but if you're already feeling like this, there's a good chance that you will feel it after the baby is born. It's a good thing to have all the personal things on the table for the Dr to be able to talk to you about them. Don't be worried, you and the baby will be just fine~
Good luck and congrats.

Chin up, new Mommy! I felt the same thing when I was pregnant with my second. Your body is overwhelmed by funny hormones, changes, and new feelings. Yeah, it's supposed to be a happy time, but in reality you'll have up's and down's. Another thing I noticed was that I still had signs of PMS (weird, huh?) even pregnant. I would talk to your doctor, but I'm sure you'll wake up any day and say, holy cow...I'm going to have a baby!!!
Good luck and best wishes!!!

Yes, it is normal - the hormones are the culprits here. And that should pass soon. You should go to your OB if depression gets worse and starts making it harder to lead a normal life and have normal relationships.

Your hormones are changing when you are pregnant and it is natural for you to go through many changes, but if you feel this is more than being just a little depressed you might talk to your Dr. and tell him how you feel and he can explain it better what is happening to you and how your chemicals are changing. This might make you feel better.

Yes, it's completely normal. For my first trimester I was constantly in a bad mood. Just really impatient w/ people and not very social. Wait for the 2nd trimester! I felt better and was happier then than before I was pregnant, it was great! I think they bottle that 2nd trimester under the name Prozac :)
