My heat will be cut back on Friday, right now my family has been in a hotel for 3 days. I was thinking of checking out Friday, but I dont know if the water will be working the same day. So should I check out Saturday??

I want to know:

How long will the pipes take to thaw out???
Should I check out Friday or Saturday???

The place isnt mine. I rent an apartment, I pay my own gas. Even though its my fault the gas gt cut off. Its the Landlords problem to deal with the pipes.

Wow, you have a problem!
The pipes will thaw out fairly quick once your heat is back on and up to normal temp in the building. I mean they will start to thaw as soon as they warm up to above freezing.
In the mean time, that is before they start to thaw, make sure that the main water line valve, the one where the line comes into the building, is closed.
There is a strong possibility that some of the pipes have been split open by the freezing, and the damaged pipes could be behind the walls.
Your hot water tank may be damaged also.
If there broken water lines anywhere in the building, it can result in considerable water damage if the pipes thaw out before the water supply is shut off.

i don't understand how your plumbing is determined up, yet once you've chilly water i imagine there should be yet another situation. i anticipate your water heater is interior your position, so i do not see how the nice and cozy water should be frozen if the chilly water is operating. is this a trailer residing house with the pipes less than the floor? Open the drain on your water heater and ensure there is water contained in the heater. per chance your water heater has failed isn't heating the water.

It should only take a couple hours once the house is heated back up... But your next concern should be, "Did the pipes split when they froze?" If they did, you have a much bigger problem.
