That was my favorite burger of all time! I was so upset when they stopped selling it.
The sauce on it was a mixture of mayo and dijon mustard.
It was rumored to "Exposing the Communist roots in American fast food chains." Mcdonalds ARch deluXe = Karl Marx.
But the real reason for it not lasting is that the burger wasn't as big of a hit as they would have hoped because it was high in calories, high in fat, and high in price.

I had a couple in my time. I do remember them being expensive in comparison to the Big Mac, even to the Big & Tasty. It also took a hit for being a fat and calorie bomb, a step backward for healthy fast food dining.

Because it never took a foothold among McD regulars, they decided to ramp it down. There was a time that you could still order it even though it wasn't on the signboard. Not anymore, it appears.

Not sure. Actually it was a pretty tasty burger. It had a slice of bacon on it and it was good. But I think McD's is evil now, so I don't eat there at all.

I haven't heard that name in ages. I think they stopped selling it here years ago. I don't know why it failed. I do know that it was a tasty burger.

I thought it was pretty good too....I think it failed because it didn't meet the sales requirements for a sandwhich that heavily advertised.

I think it failed because there really wasn't anything unique about the hamburger. It certainly did not have an appealing name. Very forgettable.

Sounds like something Dr. Scholl's would make....not a burger.
Maybe if they would have called it a Royale with cheese, it would have sold better.

I remember it, but I don't remember ever having one. Perhaps the fact that it didn't sell very well led to its demise.

What was it?
I don't think I heard of it.
That could be the problem.
