What happened to Clarks best friend Pete, the black kid? Im all caught up now, but i did miss a chunk in the middle.

His parents either separated or got divorced. His mom had a great career opportunity, but it was out of state. If I remember correctly, she was a lawyer and had the opportunity to become a judge or work for the government in some capacity. Initially Pete was going to stay in Smallville, but then he decided to move with his mother. He did keep Clark's secret. He did NOT die.
He just moved away.

I have the first 5 seasons on DVD. Pete moved, I think his parents split up so he had to move but he still kept Clark's secret the the very end. It was a shame he's off the show, I kind of liked his character but Blondie did a fine job of taking his place and they brought in Louis Lane. Would have been better if they'd have kept Pete but that's show business.

Pete learned about CK's secret early in season 2
In the racing episode of season 3 he gets Clark to use powers for bad
At the end of season 3 a FBI agent paid by Lionel tried to beat it out of him
His parents had marital issues and his Mom was being transfered for work to Topeka
He opted to move away with her so he wouldn't reveal CK's secret or be tempted to abuse it.
So he left with the end of the thrid season,
