My brother is a correction officer and he explained the whole death thing to me one day. They do have to have to use a sterilized needle so that they will not get sued if somebody comes back and says the prisioner died by anything other then the toxins the States puts into his body.
Also, a few years ago a death row inmate won an appeal saying he was too sick to be put to death...no kidding..they ruled that he wasn't in any physical shape to endure the death sentence being carried out...our Tax dollars at work....

LOL, that's been a big question for many years what people don't know is most of the needles used are packaged and sterilized all at one time. It's not that they do it for that one injection but they've done hundreds all at the same time.

Probably for the same reason the inmate cant be sick when put to death. If they are they put it off until they are healthy. I dont understand why either. These people are being put to death bec they did something horrible. Why care if everything is perfect to kill them? Did they care about the person they killed before they did it, why should we care? It isn't like their gonna get AIDS from the stupid needle and even if the needle was infected what difference would that make?

That's just how they come - pre-packaged at the manufacturer's facility. The maker has no idea which of his needles might be used for the purpose you mention or for saving the life of some innocent child, so he makes darn sure they're ALL sterile when they are shipped.

Eww! Who cares? What's the need? The person is going to die shortly after they use the needle anyway!

I agree they should not but somebody would jump up and somehow find a reason to complain about it.
