Never heard of a tach that reads at the plug? at the coil yes.

Don't know why you'd want to do this as most bikes pick it up from the coils or crank. But it can be done by building a coil of wire around the plug lead that induces a voltage and sends it to the Tacho (rev counter). Sounds like a job for a specialist really and not an easy or cheap job at that.

You need an electronic rev counter that picks up the signal from the wire that goes to the points/contact breaker or the electronic ignition set up , not the plug.
