Leaving it on all the time won't really hurt it, but you should shut it down from time to time, unplug it, and blow all the dust out of it with a can of compressed air. Especially the fans and the power supply (which has a fan inside of it too).

Your power supply may be dying (or nearly dead). If that is the case, try to find a replacement one, they are pretty easy to swap - if you can't figure it out, ask around, and find someone who knows how to do it.

I'll agree with overheating due to dust buildup, so open up the computer case and have a look, it may be as simple as cleaning out the "rabid dust bunnies" on the other hand if that is not the cause, you may want to inspect the capacitors on the mainboard as many computers experience capacitors failure on various pieces of hardware. Good Luck!

It is good possibility that your pc is overheating from dust buildup inside case. Purchase a can of compressed air from any electronics store and remove the side panel on your case and spray everything out. do not shake can cause you dont want any moisture to come out only air.

one of your fans may be bad. if your cpu fan stops, an internal setting will shut it down to prevent damage.
