I do. They seem to think that by ignoring it the whole situation will go away. That man lost his life and the US Government cant even show him the respect he deserves by holding their hands up to what they're pilots accidently did.

The only reason the tape has come to light is because of a newspaper, the widow has a right to know the circumstances in how her husband died.

Absolutely not. The pilots may have pulled the trigger but they were told the area was clear. Showing death and distruction on TV is awful, contrary to what you may think the public doesn't have the right to see everything the military does. I think that in the chaos of war bad things happen friendly fire incidents happen. It's bad, but it's usually the result of a breakdown in communication. The pilots feel awful about what happened, but that doesn't mean they owe you or the family members anything. The soldiers that died, were just that SOLDIERS, in a war zone why does everyone thing they would have survived. I'v lived in a war zone for two years when it's your time it's just your time. Stop whining and if you think someone owes the family an apology ask Mr. Blair or Mr. Bush for one.

No, I don't think that anyone was "out of order" for not showing the tape. Why is there the need to sensationalize everything in the news? The story was reported and showing the tape isn't going to do anything but exploit those that were killed.

I believe that the "want" of some to see all the "dirt" has lessened journalistic integrity, not enhanced it.

apparently our freedom of speech doesn't carry over to the requirement to speak. honestly I'd never heard of this incident and you'll find that for the most part people will take the opinion that they'd prefer not to see it. which is probably the actually reason its not being shown rather than some deep conspiracy.
when you have a democracy you're subject to popular opinion if if it's the wrong choice.

It was a tragic mistake brought about because of systematic failure on the part of thew American military - apparently they weren't trained to recognise the British - that's the Special Relationship at work again.

Why? What did it prove by showing the tape? The guy is dead and those injuried are recovering. As for the wife, why would anyone want to SEE their husband killed.... She was told how it happened. "Gee kids here is the tape of your daddy being killed, lets get popcorn."

As long as the story was told completely then no. People would not have gotten anything out of watching a person die.

Of course they were, but they can't ever admit that they have done something wrong. I heard yesterday that it was our fault because we looked like the Iraqi insurgence!

I'm assuming you mean showing it in Court, not on the news.

IF THE PILOTS WERE ACTING ON ORDERS THEN IT IS NOT THIER FAULT. THE FAULT WOULD LIE WITH THE COMMANDER WHO ORDERED THEM TO DO IT. AS FOR YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT WHEATHER THEY WERE WRONG NOT TO NOT TO SHOW THE TAPE, THEY DID SHOW THE TAPE YOU CAN GOOGLE IT AND WATCH IT NOW SO..........

Not me. It is unnecessary to show actual killing and violence on tv. If you want to see it you can search for it on the internet, but it has no place on the news.
