I agree with you.
The thing is some people juste CANNOT admit they've made an error, especially republicans. They defended the war so badly a few years ago that now they're stuck because of their pride.

Any war, any killing, is wrong.
The U.S. should, then, have avoided the Civil War. Did the South ever attack the north? No. Yet A. Lincoln's "blooood thirrrst" (by your bleeding heart perspective) went on and on and he never apologized! Damn that Republican!
And what about Democrats? How about FDR?
Since Germany never attacked us, since Guam never attacked us, since Italy never attacked us, perhaps the U.S. should pay retributions to all those nations for horrific acts of war and war crimes against them.
I think I'll set up class action law-suits against all adults who shove metal objects through the skin of small children. Sounds like a good case, right? Well, damn those horrible doctors and nurses for piercing millions of little arms with vaccination innoculations!!!! Let'm hang! No, wait. We can't hang them. That, too would be killing!
If peace, love, charity, hope and selflessness can't be forced from every single human being alive and ever to live from now on, then your logic leaves only one remedy for humanity:
Prevent ALL potential new victims of pain, death, tyranny, dictatorial brutality, vaccination and Seinfeld and other bad sitcoms by administering one hundred percent tubal ligotomies and vasectomies upon the onset of puberty of every human.
Not a good option, huh?
I didn't think so.
I have to ask you, was the civil war worth the carnage?
Did we have any right, rhyme or reason to attack Nazi Germany considering that only imperial Japan attacked us?
Should we even have retaliated against Japan?
Next time, let's just get in the cellar. Like during a tornado.

I have to believe we could have killed Saddam Hussein and plunged Iraq into civil war without spending three quarters of a Trillion (with a T) dollars and thousands of American lives.
For the money we have spent we could have funded any of the universal health care programs for years. Somehow "too expensive" never enters the right wing debate when the military is involved.

The article has nothing to do with supporting the overall mission in Iraq. That would be like saying we should close a school becuase health class is a bad thing. You don't close the school, you consider a change in the health class.

I don't know. How can you support Bush taking the fight against terrorists over to the Middle East instead of here in the US like it was on 9/11. How can someone support that?

If you have family in Iraq or have visited there yourself you'd know it isn't as bad as some people would want you to believe. I have family there, so I'm definately interested in the well-being of our troops and mission in Iraq.

They're incapable of admitting they're wrong.
Republicans would rather go down with the ship.
