I seem to be all over the place on the issues.
First, i am for the death penalty.
I am for a womans right to choose if she wishes to have an abortion-although i feel that it is a very bad choice on her part to have a abortion and if i were a woman i dont think i would make that decision. Still, i am pro-choice and would stand by a woman who is close to me if she made that choice.
I am for the war on terror-yet think the war in Iraq is not related at all and a major mistake.
I am pro-military. I regret not joining the military when i was younger.
I am for gun rights, as long as the person doesnt have a criminal background and buys the gun legally and has it registered.
I feel our government is becoming too Big Brotherish. I want less government control over my life.
I feel the patriot act was intended as a great tool but now is being abused by those in power.
I consider myself Christian and believe in God.
What am i?

There is no political party that could precisely fit any one person exactly. You can choose any political party you'd like, voting on issues is what matters most. In our area it was better to be a registered republican if you were looking for a gov't job ... it doesn't mean you could possibly agree with every thought that party had ... most americans are in the same boat. Just remember at the polls it's not just voting for people ... every vote typically has "issues" up for resolve as well ... and they count just as much as the people on the ballots (though less talked about when it's voting time)
Think about this ... you were born to a family with a name ... do you agree with every person in your family ... doubt it because it's a name and a relationship it's not a "given" for values and ideals.

Anti-Gay Marriage, Pro-Military, Gun Rights, Self proclaimed Christian= Republican.
Then again, after the mid-term elections, those aforementioned characteristics are becoming WAY too common in the Democrat Party.

You lean to the right, but how about this...don't label yourself with some overreaching and outdated political party. Instead be a GDI (god damned independent) and choose the particular candidate who is most closely associated with your views. Some are democrats, some are republicans, but certainly don't let the loons and idiots on here put you into one of the categories they so like to put everyone in. Just trust yourself and find the right candidates who you support. That will take you farther than trying to join up with one of the two major parties who have been hijacked by the radicals in each. Thanks and have a nice day.

Based on your views you don't seem to fit squarely within either major party. However, keep in mind that each party encompasses a range of positions, as not all Democrats are necessarily liberal and not all republicans are hardcore conservatives. You appear to be neither a clear liberal or conservative, and so it seems that "moderate" candidates from either party would appeal to you. ( Think John McCain or Joe Liebermann)

You sound like a moderate Republican, as far as social issues go. It's where you stand fiscally that will really tell you.
The only difference between a Republican and a Democrat (or at least the only difference that matters) is that a Democrat pretty much believes that all social programs are fine as they are, while a Republican believes that all social programs need an overhaul.

YOu are more a conservative. Maybe not as informed, but definitely more of a conservative. Your comments on the patriot act and the war in Iraq show me you watch too much mainstream media. The reason is that Iraq is now ground zero for the war on terror. Bush has gotten Al Queda and Iran to throw all their eggs in one basket. They know if Iraq is a working representative democratic government, it's over for them. Secondly, the patriot act is not being used as a big brother type of monitoring of everyday citizins. There are alot of people who have some connection with a terrorist or a suspected terrorist. To determine whether someone is a terrorist, we must monitor them.

You are a realist. Remain an Independent. Find out which candidate in ANY party most closely fits your views. It takes more work, you choice will likely loose, but it is worth it.

You seem like a moderate Republican if I had to chose.
Although, there is still room in the ol' Independent parties! I became an Indy long ago. It allows you to be open to all views.

You sound like the average independant like me. But I'm so independant I wouldn't join a party that would have someone like me for a member.

You're a member of the Daves Here party... don't label yourself and don't let others do it for you. Just vote for the person who has the opinions that you feel matters.
