the reason spiders can climb on vertical and even upside down surfaces is because of the small hairs on thair legs that fit into tiny cracks in most materials. Most baths are made out of porcelaine or enamel both which have no such cracks, thus spiders can't climb up the side of a bath

The surface of the sink and or the tub are too slippery for the spider to grasp...so the poor little suckers are stuck there : (

I guess the surface of those things (likewise glass bowls etc) are too smooth and they cannot get enough traction to climb out.

to slippery but i have seen some that do........do you know why they go to tubs and sinks??? most poisons they get into cause them to go to water.........yuck i just hate spiders with a passion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
