No, I really did not know I had it the 1st time around. There are no major symptoms with it. Since you are in your 1st trimester if may not show up, unless you have had it before. Like me this is my 2nd pregnancy and I was tested at 8wks and I already had it. I am now on insulin for it. Now you could start to feel dizzy and have the shakes or sweats when your sugar is dropping. But that usually doesn't occur very often in gest diabetes. Make sure you are watching your carbs, not the sugar in things you eat. Do not drink any fruit juices at all, they will mess up your sugar quick. If you do have it, they will set you up with a dietitian and she will give you all kinds of things to read. Read them all.. it will help ALOT! When your sugar is up.. there a minimal symptoms. Good luck and all will work out.. just follow the diet/

You may notice that you're more thirsty, hungry, or tired than usual or that you have to urinate more frequently, but these are common, normal symptoms during any pregnancy. The fact is that gestational diabetes often has no symptoms. That's why almost all pregnant women are given a glucose screening to test for it between 24 and 28 weeks.
However, if you're at high risk for diabetes or are showing signs of it (such as having sugar in your urine), your caregiver will recommend this screening test at your first prenatal visit and then again at 24 to 28 weeks if the result is negative. If this test result is positive, it doesn't mean that you have gestational diabetes, but you will need to take a longer follow-up test for a diagnosis.
Hope everything goes good 4 u at ur appt.
congrads on the baby!

I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. The only symptom I had was being thirsty all the time. Before I knew I had it, I thought it was just because your body requires more fluids when you're pregnant. I am pregnant again. Since I had it once before, I will be tested earlier in this pregnancy for it. I was told they would do a one hour glucose test at 15 weeks (instead of 28 weeks) to see if I have it. I was able to control my gestational diabetes through diet and it went away after pregnancy. I am prepared to control it again through diet if I get it with this pregnancy. The worst part of it was having to go for non-stress tests twice a week at my OB's office. Best of luck to you.

Its pretty common to feel awful when you are 12 weeks pregnant! You are unlikey to have symptoms if you have gestational diabetes - it's about the way your body is dealing with glucose and whether the glucose is getting into the cell. It also tends to develop later on in pregnancy.
Craving sugar is quite common in pregnancy and not a sign that you have diabetes!

I'd think that you get a desire for sweets, and most likely feel thirsty all of the time. Or a lot of the time, anyway.
If you develop gestational diabetes. take good care of yourself, always. You will be at risk for developing type 2, later in life. Keep your weight down, and eat balanced meals. Get tested every year.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

well I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy...going to be tested soon to see if I have it again (24 weeks pregnant).
As far as symptoms..hmmmmm...well you want and eat alot of sweets, sugar. You seem to feel like you cannot have enough. That is the way I felt anyway.
I don't feel that way this pregnancy soo I am keeping my fingers crossed... Good lUck to you.
And don't worry...as long as you are monitored there is absolutely nothing to worry about. :)
