Valentine's day is a marketing scheme by the card companies. Don't ever think that you have to spend money to have a good time.
You can also take her somewhere close by, that's beautiful, just to be with her. You can choose to take just a simple lunch - even PB&J works - or just take a walk with her. Or sit and watch the sunset.
The most important thing is to set aside a time where nothing else happens. It's just you and her together. Turn off all the phones, the TV etc and just enjoy each other.
Nature offers a lot of free options. Like the suggestion above. Or you could go out and find a few blooming flowers growing wild - yes, depending where you live there could be some - and use their petals to make a romantic walk way to dinner, or the bed.
Someone else suggested a coupon book. Which is another good suggestion. It can include anything from a back/foot rub, to running a hot bath, to doing something for her (and I'm not just talking errands here!).

Days like Valentine's Day put alot of unnecessary stress on people. It shouldn't matter if u can afford to buy material gifts or not. It should just be a day to spend together and affirm your love for each other, and u don't need money to do that. Have a nice candle lit dinner at home, wear something sensual and sexy, with some soft music playing in the background. As far as a gift goes, there are lots of gifts that don't cost a cent, such as u could write a poem, or a song, or make up a coupon book full of sexy coupons redeemable at anytime. If u put your imagination into it u can have a wonderful, memorable Valentine's without it costing a cent.

You can download love coupons from the Internet for free. Or make your own. These coupons gives the receiver a chance to full fill their every whim with no questions asked at any place, at any time. How much more giving can that be and yet perhaps be romantic. Secondly you can cook a great meal for two with candles etc, etc for your significant other.

If you can think up all the words that he means to you try to write him a poem or something. That would mean alot more than spending money on a gift b/c it is coming from your heart.

Its not all about money. Do you need it to buy love?
Valetines come and go! There's always another way to appreciate you partner without having to spend. Look back into your refrigerator, try your food cupboard (store), cook something unusual and talk about your future (if you have one) together...
Let me know how your Val day was...

you can make dinner for her but the best thing you could give her for valentines is to spend time with her.
