The All Blacks are New Zealands World conquering Rugby team, not World Champions but generally regarded as the most powerful in the world. As the name might imply the majority of players who hold the honour and distinction of being an All Black are Moari and Pacific Islander. All various shades of black and certainly not considered White or caucasion. Do you think being called all black to them is an insult ? far from it its what every kiwi dreams of being. (Im an Aussie by the way). So why do so many people cry RACISM the moment someone points out the bleedingly obvious that we all come from different backgrounds, there is black and white and various shades inbetween. If your white your white - your not nonblack ok and if your black your black your not nonwhite are you ! Take the example of a world conquering Rugby team, wear it with pride as a badge of honour, even make it the colour of your "jersey" and infact your official name ! Celebrate our diversity and enough with the crying!

You are correct and your point is well taken. The All Blacks has a right to be proud of their accomplishments and who they see themselves to be. However, skin color has very little to do with the hard work of becoming a top world team. The efforts and sacrifices that everyone has to make to get as far as they have has more to do with true grit and the ability to learn about oneself. Diversity is wonderful bonus.

Hello. I am a Black woman that lives in America and you have to understand that some Black people have a problem with it because it may bring back painful memories that we had to go through of being segregated from other races such as the ***** baseball league, not allowed to go to the same schools with everyone else, etc. due to our race. It sometimes strikes fear in people about the horrors of yesteryear. I am proud to be Black and I don't mind the name the All Blacks because in this day in time, I am taught it is not a bad thing to be Black and their name is not being used in the same context as it was before during the years of segregation.

Being called black is certainly not an insult. But if I was a white player, I would feel left out. Eventually, if there is not now, there will be a white player.

They are so called because it is the colour of their kit. It has nothing to do with race.

To the one who said she would feel left out, how you feel is YOUR responsibility; no one else's. You can control that. if the "ALL BLACKS" want to call themselves the all blacks, SO BE IT.
