I have a friend who has cheated on her husband numerous times. Like 3-4 times that he knows of. Why do you think he stays?
They have 3 children. And have seperated 2 or 3 times. But they always manage to get back together.

they have children together which sort of keeps them coming back to each other she has not found the emotional and financial support she needs outside the marriage. he stays cause he has no where else to go, and maybe he is forgiving and doesn't hold grudges. also the child support for three kids would be kind of steep and maybe if he were to leave he would have very little left to live on.

Children and financial issues is usually the reason a man stays in a relationship. Even if he filed for divorce and asked for custody, 9 times out of 10 he wouldn't get it and would have to pay childsupport which would only enable his then ex wife to go out and screw her brains out.

I was in a marriage for 8 years, i stayed simply because i didn't want a court battle over property. We separated several times, went to counseling and she still kept up having her affairs with other men.

Finally during a counseling session when she was in a rare good mood we agreed to see an attorney and work out a mutually agreeable property division that could be submitted to a judge for immediate execution in the event either of us cheated. who ever filed for divorce would get everything.

I Can't believe she was so gullible to fall for this tactic that i had devised and she entered that agreement.

Within 2 weeks I caught her having intercourse with one of my subordinate co-workers. I never said anything but retrieved the document from the attorney's office, and walked it right to the nearest district court judge. He granted it along with an eviction order and i went to her work with the cops and they served it on her within an hour after the judge signed it.

Judge said it was the fastest divorce and property settlement he'd ever done in his 44 years on the bench and wish all his divorce docket was that easy.

My ex hates me to this day over that divorce. Cause all she got was her clothes, personal belongings and her car that she had just bought. I got everything else. 11 houses (rentals) 3 pickup trucks, the motorhome, all the furniture, and total ownership in a convienence store that we'd opened up 5 years previously.

Yes, i'd say he's staying for the kids and the financial burden it would create on him if he divorced. But, he may come around and get smart one day and dump that cheater.

Sounds like he really wants to make the marriage work because he truely does love her. But more than that, he wants to keep his family together at any cost. A low self esteem might also have alot to do with it. But he deserves better and so do the kids. And the reason she cheats is...she knows she can. What kind of diseases is she bringing back ino home? eww!

Why do Men,who's Wive's cheat on them, stay with them? My guess is that he is very insecure and he does not want to see his kids, suffer if he decides to leave. This man needs to leave her, and make a new life of his own, because his wife is never going to change, she likes the life she is living and come to think of it, she does not love her kids either. if possible he should even file cutody for his kids, he has a lot of proof and I am sure he could win the Battle.

Her husband is staying to make sure the kids have two parents in the house. He thinks he's doing the right thing, but in the end, he's hurting them and their views on marriage. If they're old enough to find out about their mother's many indiscretions, they'll lose respect for her and for their father for putting up with it. His children would be better off living with one stable parent as opposed to living in a house full of strife, deceit, and lies.

Simple. They have low self esteem and no options on the horizon. If not divorce, at least a period of separation is indicated to put a nail into the seriousness of this situation. In a climate of infidelity, staying together for the kids is not doing them a favor. If you don't treat this situation aggressively, then put on your shirt that says WIMP and shut up about it.

because women are made to feel second rate by society, and their parents bring them up to find a good man and have kids. it is ingrained in them. they are made to believe they are nothing without a man. and men do nothing to dispel this myth.

it's the same with women that stay with men that beat them up, they geneally have no self-esteem and self-worth.

they think that they can't find anyone else, or that no-one will have them, so a husband that cheats or beats is better than no husband at all...

sad

I never can understand this one, whether it's the male or female being cheated on. There must be more than one psychological explanation for it...more than low self-esteem, more than not caring, more than loving too much... I am going to monitor your question and hope to find a unique answer to this one.

My husband and I were talking about that last night. His response was "your in love" so you stay because you "love " them. But he also said that after a while "love" isn't enough to stay with someone who hurts you. He will leave her soon, he just has to realize a few things first.

He probably stayed for the kids, but at the same time he now has free reign to go out and get him some.
