Here's my mums recipe that I modified.

Lamb mince - not beef it is too bland say ave 600grams to feed 4
Chopped carrots
fresh peas
onion
mozerella cheese - cheddar is ok too
potatoes - I prefer to use idaho but any is ok
black peppercorns - medium grind
butter
curry powder or port - optional

boil ya spuds while finely grating your onion, drain them and while they're still steaming throw the onion and peppercorns in and mash away, only use butter - not margarine yuck - to make them fluffy after mashing.
Heat the pan and use a little butter - oil taste will remain with the meat, put your vegies in first to give em a head start softening, then put ya lamb mince in and mix it up, if you want something different put in the curry powder or port in - just depends on your taste - and let it cook until lightly brown - don't take it too far.
Put your mix into your dish then cover with your potato mash, sprinkle with a good dose of grated mozerella so it goes golden during your oven time, about 140 for until the cheese says it's ready.

Enjoy.

ps This is a very not brit version.

Well, I'm not British, but I have the Best Shepherd's Pie Recipe in the World!
First, make fresh mashed potatoes with fresh minced garlic
second- make ground beef and spice to your liking, drain the nasty oil
Third- Layer the ground beef on the bottom of a casserole pan( a deep one)
Fourth- Put a mixture of whole kernel corn and cream corn on top of the beef
Fifth- layer the corn with your favorite cheese
Sixth- pile on the mashed potatoes
Seven- crumble some potatoes chips on top, some more shredded cheese, and bake at 350 for like a half hour! Its sooooooo good!
( you can use mixed veggies if you want)
