Graffiti is only a crime if the person doing it does not have permission from the owner of the property to paint there. If they have permission it is art if they don't its a crime

I would have to agree with the term "guerrilla art". It is a crime and also a art form. Let's just keep Graffiti on our own possessions!

Both.
Crime because there are laws against it;
art because anything creative or expressive is art; art requires only the act of being creative regardless of the products or end result.
Really if they want to spray on walls, they should setup studios designed speicifically for it... and then invite people to view those walls like a museum- - and that way make a profit from it, plus, carve out their own cultural niche that ISNT in disagreement with the common law!!

Gang signs and scrawled tags are unsightly, however, I've seen some beautiful murals done with a spray can. It takes a lot of skill to put up a decent piece.
Personally, I don't have a problem with the guys muraling vacant crack buildings/homes etc. As long as they're not painting up someone's home or business that is lived in/in operation, it's all good and sure is nicer to look at than some old burnt out bricks!

i think graffiti is an ugly art but a lot of graffiti artist don't paint on peoples buildings. its a crime when it's on on something they don't own. how would they like it if someone came to their house and painted a swastika on it, its about the same as a store owner wanting their name on his store.

i dont think its ever a crime, since it can fall into the freedom of expression domain. however some os true art because it uplifts or inspires or makes someone think or feel. but some of it used to instill violence and hate which is destructive and sad

depends where it is, if it was over someones property then definatly crime! but if it was over a wall in a park or something then i think its art. and if course if it was in an art gallery then definatly art! i think it looks cool
