do you think the dixie chicks ruined the song "Landslide"?

When I was about 12 or so, I bought the smashing pumpkins "pisces iscariot" album and I always thought that billy corgan's solo performance of the fleetwood mac classic was one of the best songs (and performances) ever. but then the dixie chicks went and did a totally lethargic version that has made the song well known, and everyone thinks that its a dixie chicks original. Now, if you play the older versions, people say, oh, why would they cover that awful dixie chicks song!? whadayou' think?

I like the Dixie Chicks, but never liked that song. Their version of it wasn't very good. The number of critics who thought it was brilliant was shocking to me, it seemed like a herd mentality at the time.

It will always be Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks for me, but I think they did a good job of keeping it like the original ... but I'm not a Dixie Chicks fan. I really hate when artists take an old favorite and try to "re do" what was great before ... a real artist should take a song that bombed and remake that and see if they can turn it to a hit.

usually I like originals better, but I have to say with landslide I actually prefer the dixie chicks version

I like the old because it stood on its own.The Chicks in their right did a good job but the level of thanks they give to the originals has never been shown because they do act like its theirs. I never liked that in the music business.

no, I don't think they ruined, if you don't like don't listen to it, people have enough common sense to know that it's not an original and they can look up the original or look up whatever version they like and listen to it
