Disagree. Black youth today are given more advantages (social programs, scholarships, affirmative action, etc.) than ANY other racial group. However, 8 out of 10 children born in the black community are born out of wedlock, more young black men are in prison than obtaining an education.
What about personal responsibility. Instead of the black youth wondering...who's gonna help me...why don't they help themselves? That is what everyone else does...and we do not have near the problems that the black community has.

I agree that black youth believe that, but I'm not so sure that their beliefs are grounded in reality.
I'm an old white woman and have a young, black woman friend. We talk about racial things A Lot. She looks at these beliefs and scoffs. She came from a terrible, ghetto background but has raised herself up by her bootstraps.
Depending on the setting, she can speak and behave middle class or ghetto. Just as I can do the same between uneducated country folk and middle class.
She is of the belief that a mindset of "victimization" is what is holding them back, not racism itself.

false, look at affirmative action, united ***** college fund, etc. Michigan STate university added points to the SAT scores of african americans. There is public transportation in most places to get you to work, most places hire quotas of diverse races, there are governmental programs such as welfare, medicare/aid, and food stamps. With all that help, there is NO REASON not to succeed....

Yes, I think they think that. White people usually can't see it though b/c they don't experience racism as much as minorities.
