Lebron easy. Yao has done nothing to raise Houstons game in the few years he has been there compared to Lebron.
Pre-Lebron the Cavs were 17-65. Last year the team was 50-32. This year at times they have been as high as First in the Conference. Give Lebron a decent running mate and this teams starts winning championships.
And while Yao did help the Rockets get to 51 wins in 05 they had a losing record last year and Yao already has Tracy McGrady on that team.
Should be interesting as to who fares better over the years but I would place my bet on Lebron.

Looking back as far as the 80s, you really can't based championship with one specific position or person anymore. Magic had Kareem, Bird had McHale, Jordan had Pippen, Shaq had Kobe. A dominating player, Center or Forward, will win you games, but a good combination of players will win you championship. Look at Garnett, no championship and people thought not too long ago he will win tons of championship. But he got no help. That is why this game is great, it is a team sport. You had Stockton and Malone in Utah all these years....hall of famers for sure, but yet, no title. Talent in 1 or even 2 person doesn't guarantee championship anymore.
So, with that in mind, I would pick LeBron, at least he will bring excitement and people to the arena. Same way Jordan kept the Bulls franchise going in the 80s. Then you hope and pray you get him some help and chemistry to win a championship.

I'd actually pick Tim Duncan first. You need a back to the basket player who can draw away attention from your 3 point shooter. A guy that can play amazing defense and you know will get you points.
KG is great, he'd be #2, he just doesn't have the take over/post presence that Tim Duncan has.
Also Yao is great (my chinese brother), but as we've noted recently the Rockets are playing better without him. They play a slower style with Yao in because he'sl.... slow. He also has an extremely low amount of boards for a 7ft'r.
Jeff van gundy said that Yao doesn't assert his dominance, he asserts skill, which isn't enough for most people.

I would take Yao Ming, except for his injury issues as of late...but yes you do need a big man to build around, no recent championship winner didn't have a big scorer/defender at either power forward or center. His 20/10 numbers with huge block averages is well worth picking up, he just gets hurt too much.
Kevin Garnett would probably be my first pick, despite his age. He is a dominating presence down low.

Lebron, no doubt. Ming gets hurt too much. Lebron is the next Micheal Jordan. He will lead the Cavs to the finals in the next couple of years. Playmakers are much more important than tall often injured centers.

i've got seen lots of great gamers, yet an extremely few are able to dominating a game like Wilt Chamberlain did. You knew that Wilt replaced into going to deliver it each and every evening and as good because of the fact the different gamers you named are/have been he replaced into the main suitable participant ever (my opinion). I even have by no potential seen a participant dominate his opponent like Wilt. purely invoice Russell replaced into any opposition for him. So Wilt Chamberlain. group call: Grinders

Lebron for sure. He is awesome. Ming gets hurt to much. He would be a liability I think.
