The cental locking on my car (52 reg) has recently started to activate while I am driving... locking, unlocking which had never happened before. This is now also having an effect on my indicators. When in locked position they dont work and i then have to manually unlock the doors before they will operate again. This only lasts for a short period until central locking activates again and I have to go through the same procedure to get the indicators to work.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Peugeot 406 is a car with a lot of problems.
Peugeot are aware of the problems because many people had been complaining about it.

When you start seeing these problems my advice is get ride of it.

the exact same thing happened to my Peugeot. I ended up parking it in the front yard, filling it with dirt and converting it into a planter. I am confident I made a quality decision.

Central locking unit or a comm unit problem. Take it to your dealer and say the words "comm 2000" and watch their faces!

There used to be a "reset" button for central locking systems, try to find it (probably in the fuses box or below the steering wheel) and reset your system.

The words 'Peugeot' and 'Problems' were made to go together.
