try making an oxyclean solution and spraying it on the edges. Of course, test it in the corner somewhere wher eyou won't see it first to make sure it's safe for your particular carpet.

how are you cleaning? are you vaccuming? or are you shampooing? either way, you use the hose attachment (vacuum or shampooer). if you don't have a hose attachment on your vacuum, you can use a broom and sweep the edges. We used to have to do that too, becuase when i was growing up they hadn't invented the hoses yet........ if just plain sweeping isn't working, you can wrap a wash cloth or a towel around the end of the broom and sweep over it again. also, you could try like the resolve carpet cleaner stuff in a bottle or spray, that way you can put it exactly where you want it. good luck, hope that helps!!!

Use one of the tube attachments on your vacuum. There should be one for corners and edges. Sprinkle some powdered carpet cleaner on there, let it settle for an hour and vacuum it up.

I never had heard of this until my aunt was helping me clean my carpet.
She used a broom, it will need some strength, but it's amazing how the dust and dirt come off, then you vacuum the stuff up after it's off the sides.

Use the nozzel for going all around the edges...go over it several times. Suck all the loose dust and material out before you try to use any type of spray cleaner or anything.....that would just make mud.
