I suggest you run a free scan program on your exisitng computer to know the type & confirm what you have- see below. Microsoft Vista has different versions- Basic - 512k- All others - 1GB of memory. I upgraded to 2 GB since I have an older IBM NetVista 2.1 Ghz running the Ulimate version and it seems to help out the processor and other devices & app software. Real sweat:) Vista-Memory has some good install tips on their site. too.

Vista allows you to use a flash drive as supplemental memory for the operating system, which usually is less expensive than upgrading the memory inside the computer.
This won't solve your lack of video memory. You need a high end card for Vista

I'm not sure what you mean by "Vista Memory". If you need to upgrade your system memory to support Vista, it depends greatly on what type of machine you have and what type of memory that machine uses. If you go to www.crucial.com and enter your computer brand and model, you will be able to see what type of memory your system takes, and learn what the maximum amount of RAM is that your system will accept. You will need to know how many sticks of memory are currently installed so you will know what memory to buy.
To install memory in a computer, you just need to open the case, find the location of the memory and remove it using the mechanism on your particular motherboard. Usually there are clips on either side of each stick of memory that release each stick when pushed or pulled. You then carefully remove the existing memory, and reverse the process to install the new memory. This differs based on your type of machine (laptop vs. desktop) and brand/model.

Get the model and brand of your computer and see what the max memory you can upgrade to. Did not know what you meant by Vista memory!!! You might have to be more specific on that.

You need to find out how much memory you have installed on your computer. From there you need to upgrade to a minimum of 1gb of memory to run Vista properly.
