love shouldn't just be an abstract emotion, it is demonstrated with actions. Nobody loves and understand love like Jehovah God. That's why we have the ability to love because we were created in Gods image. Read John 15:13, (i wont quote it because the bible im holding now is in another language). That's how you know if you really love someone, whether it's a parent, friend, or spouse. Love it's great in all its forms, feels so good to love and to be loved. sounds cliche but its true.

No it's not true. We all love different people to different degrees. And if we genuinely love at least one person in our lives, then we are not shallow enough to have that said of us.
NO ONE can love every person in the lives to the same degree of deepness. We as a society would all be a clingy, soggy mess if this was true.
It is more honest to say "Your love for me is the least of the loves in your life". That is the only honest way to get across the feelings this person was trying to convey, I think.

no its not true, coz firstly if you love someone, u cant compare its depth to anythin ( whether 2 the one you loove the least, or whether its god or ur own self). if someone said that 2 u, they might be upset at u, but then agagin..the real feeling of love, can only be known by u, since its within u. so, do this, and tell me if it works:
close ur eyes, sit someplace alone at starry night like ur garden etc. if not posisble then ur room, lighst closed and the window open so u can see the moonlight.
then take all ur pain out and then ask urself " is my love only as deep as the love i bear for the one i love the least", if answer is yes. it means ur emotionally still atcahed to the thinkin of whoever said this to u, and if answr is "no", you'll know the truth within urself, which is the deepest form of love itself and if ur answer is " i dont know or i'm confuzed", then you have never done wats called true love.
Hope it works! chaoo

No... This isn't true, if it was no one would love at all and everyone would hate each other as no one loves everyone.
We all love things and people differently, we love our families - but not the same way we love our close friends and the one we love the most our lovers we dont love anyone the way we love them. Thats what makes them so special. As for things we all love chocolate, but we wouldn't give up our lovers for it.
So no I dont believe it to be true... If you would give up something for a person or a thing then you must love it more than the thing that your giving up... You can love more than the thing you love the least.... I certainly do!

sounds very poetic and all that, but what gives you that idea? change the word love to "hate" and what do you get? or even the word "lust"!
nah, it's not true ,it's a load o' nonsense!
"your love is as deep as the love you bear for the one you love the most", makes a lot more sense, don't you think?

What if I'd love to hurt the one I love the least?
I've always figured your love is only as deep as it's been penetrated.....now THAT'S deep.

It is easy to love the people that you already love (if that makes sense) but to love that person that you hate is a challenge because it means accepting the person no matter what their flaws are. Sometimes love is a tricky thing that can be ruled either by our conscious or our unconsciousness. We can truly know the depth of our love if we are able to love those that are the opposites of us but we are able to accept them because our love for them is greater than our differences.

Don't agree. That's a very negative and disturbing statement. I have rewritten it: "Your love is as deep as the love you bear for the one you love the most"
Peace and Love!!!

It is very true.
What you do to the least of my people, so you do unto me...Matthew 25:40
Love thy enemy...Matthew 5:44
It's also indicative of "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link" if you think of Love as a chain. How strong is your love?
You shouldn't cry though. Only remove anger from your heart from those who would cause you to hate.
