if they have a bike ride one; save on fuel; global warming; it has to start somewhere with someone or stop somewhere with someone; I can barely afford to pay for my electricity with the increases etc ; just disregard for what the average American citizen has to endure and struggle; they are out of touch with the citizens who they represent; that is what I am saying.

DID YOU THINK SHE WAS ANY DIFFERENT. SHE'S A LIBERAL. SHE BELIEVES THAT EVERYONE ELSE SHOULDN'T SO THAT SHE COULD. SHE IS A JOKE HER BOTOX IS ALSO PAID FOR WITH TAX DOLLARS.
THE AIRPLANE SHE WANT WILL COST 22 GRAND PER HOUR TO FLY.

Pelosi has requested a C-32 plane for her travels -- a luxurious and specially configured version of the Boeing 757-200 commercial intercontinental airliner. The plane seats 45 passengers with business-class accommodations and a crew of up to 16, depending on the mission. It features a communications center, a fully enclosed stateroom for the primary passenger, a changing area, a conference facility, an entertainment system, and a convertible divan that seats three and folds out to a bed. The C-32 can cost as much as $22,000 an hour to operate. It's normally used by the first lady, the vice president, Cabinet officials and members of Congress upon request.

"Just a month into the new Democratic majority, we are talking about the costs of an arrogance of office," said Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam of Florida at a briefing for reporters Tuesday. "The same week she is talking about fiscal responsibility, she is requesting a jumbo jet to taxi her back and forth from her district, something that is a major deviation from the previous speaker. Certainly, it is the interest of someone who is in the presidential succession to have access to a secure aircraft, but this is not a routine military charter flight. This is Air Force Three."

The source said that Pentagon officials and the Bush administration have instead offered Pelosi use of the same plane made available to former Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.: a C-20, which seats about 12 passengers and five crew members.

A C-20 can make the 700-mile flight to Hastert's Aurora, Ill., district easily but would generally have to stop to refuel to complete the 2,800-mile trip from Washington, D.C. to the San Francisco Bay Area, depending on the headwinds.

Pelosi has expressed concern about having to stop and refuel, primarily for security reasons, her office said. Since 9/11, the speaker of the House -- second in line behind the vice president to succeed the president -- has received what the Air Force refers to as "shuttle service," the use of military planes to travel for security reasons. Hastert used a C-20, the military version of the Gulf Stream 3 business jet, a twin-engine turbo-fan aircraft that seats 12 passengers with a crew of five.

Pentagon spokesman Cmdr. J.D. Gordon outlined the rules and restrictions governing Speaker Pelosi's use of the C-20:

No more than 10 passengers (C-20's seat only 12 passengers, not including up to 5 crew members);

No travel to political events;

Members of the speaker's family cannot fly unless the speaker makes a request in writing. The Pelosi family has to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for the cost of a coach ticket per person for the travel, as well as for any food;

Members of Congress cannot fly on the plane unless their travel has been cleared with the House Committee on Standards (the Ethics Committee);

Pelosi's husband can travel for free, but only for official protocol purposes.

In response to the Pentagon's offer, Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly told ABC News, "We appreciate the Defense Department's continuing concern for the speaker's security. We are reviewing their letter."

Pelosi: I Want an Aircraft That Will Reach California

Earlier today, Pelosi responded to Republican critics who have accused her of making unreasonable demands on the Pentagon for a luxurious airplane her Republican predecessor never requested.

"I want an aircraft that will reach California," Pelosi told reporters Wednesday afternoon, insisting that she doesn't care what kind of plane it is as long as it can fly nonstop to her home district.

SHE IS SO FULL OF HERSELF THAT SHE IS ALREADY LOSING SITE OF WHAT SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. SHE IS NOT SPECIAL AND SHOULD NOT BE TREATED AS SUCH.

Of course she needs a jumbo jet to go back and forth to San Francisco. She's Nancy Pelosi, so she's more important than the rest of us. I say give her a 727 and make her fly coach!

At least the MSM isn't burying the story.

good for her. tom hassert shouldve had brains enough to ask for one . but hes tight lipped just think about the pages scandal. he knew but didnt wanna disclose any info as not to hurt the congressman.Kinda also like marion berry if any one of us was caught sniffing cocaine in a hotel room with hookers we'd still be sitting in prison. they are all there for POWER and MONEY ..... Nancy or anyone whos speaker of the house should all be riding on air force 1. Maybe if Bush wasnt flying back and forth to texas to be on Vacation she'd be able to use the jet.

You have a good point. Unlike Pelosi and the Dems, the same neoconservative advisers who advocated for the Iraq war are now recycling the same tactics to push for the bombing of Iran. Unger reports that not all of Bush’s key conservative allies are pleased with the administration’s course on Iran:

“Everything the advocates of war said would happen hasn’t happened,” says the president of Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist, an influential conservative who backed the Iraq invasion. “And all the things the critics said would happen have happened. The president’s neoconservative advisers are effectively saying, ‘Invade Iran. Then everyone will see how smart we are.’ But after you’ve lost x number of times at the roulette wheel, do you double-down?”

And what does Pelosi and the Dems have to say about this? For four years of failure and bloodshed in the Iraq war, Pelosi and the Dems have issued warnings, concerns, sage advice, and major suggestions for change.

For four years, the man who calls himself the Decider has given Pelosi and the Dems nothing but contempt for their views and the views of most Americans, confident that in the end, you would vote with your party.

For four years, Pelosi and the Dems have proven him brilliantly right in his judgment of what was the minority party, and what is NOW the majority party, as he was deadly wrong in his conduct of war.

For four years, Pelosi and the Dems advised no, and voted yes. Three years ago, you issued more warnings, counsel, and sage advice and were treated with the same disrespect that was shown to our commanders when their advice, too, was ignored.

Three years ago, Pelosi and the Dems advised no, and voted yes, again. Two years ago, again. One year ago, again. And now with this latest tragedy and spectacle in the Senate, again.

Pelosi and the Dems issued warnings, advice, and sage counsel again. They said no and voted yes, again. They were disrespected, again, by the President who
ignored all advice, again, and Pelosi and the Dems voted to enable yet another escalation that the American public KNOWS is wrong, again. They were reduced to voting against your their own resolution!

Bush and his ilk are determined to make the world hate Pelosi and the Dems and the American people beyond repair and make as much money for Halliburton before the investigations of the post Bush years. Congress and the Senate have to get going and rein these people in. Then the PEOPLE have to have massive and frequent demonstrations against this administration and its crimes against humanity.

FINALLY...when Iraq war veteran Jon Soltz accused Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) of "aiding the enemy," the Democratic senators gathered around him yesterday did not wince. Nor did Democrats object when Soltz, the chairman of a group called VoteVets.org, called President Bush and Vice President Cheney "draft dodgers."

In the United States Congress, where decorum usually holds sway, Soltz and his small band of veterans are saying things many Democrats would like to express but can't. And as the politics heat up over the Iraq war, Democratic leaders increasingly are being drawn to Soltz and his angry soldiers.

Pelosi and the airplane controversy doesnt even matter in the face of Washington Post reports that US President George W Bush's "surge" of troops to Iraq by 21,500 "would create major logistical hurdles for the US Army and Marine Corps". That's a nice way of putting it, like calling a tsunami a maritime disturbance or an earthquake a tectonic-plate adjustment.

The truth is that after nearly four years of fighting in Iraq, the US military is deeply stressed and worn out by its operations there. While most dispassionate observers are aware of this, it is not something the Bush administration likes to talk about. Nevertheless, the truth is that from a US military perspective, Iraq is increasingly burdensome.

It looks like the military turned down her request.
We'll see how she handles rejection, but she's got a long way to go to catch up to the greed and theivery of the republicans over the last 6 years.
