It's not in Riga but near a city called Sigulda, yeah, about an hour away. I was in Sigulda camping last summer and it was beautiful. Don't know if there's quite so much to do in the winter there, though. We have snow here now, and it's been pretty cold, so the bobsled should be running. Its 1200m long. According to the last info that I have, it's open to the public from 11am-6pm, only on Sat & Sun, from Nov 1 - March 1... though I have to wonder if they'll stay open llonger this year since we have so much snow... don't know. It's 2Ls per person, which is a little less than $4. The phone number I have for contact is 79 73 813... but I'm not sure if anyone will speak English or not, but you could try.

http://www.sigulda.lv/public/eng/ will give you a little more info on the area, but there's little about the bobsled run, even on the Latvian side. That is the current phone number though.

Have fun!
