Its great.

As an employer, I certainly don't want stoned, drunk, or drug addicted employees. These kinds of behaviors indicate the willingness to engage in other inappropriate behaviors.

Employee theft, excessive absenteeism, lack of attention to work detail, por customer relationships, and others all relate (in many cases) to drug-using employees.

My customers deserve better.

I'm very against it - IF the job is not one where the safety of others will come into play.

For instance, a secretary. Sure you could argue that a drugged secretary could be dangerous - hurling typewriters and inflicting papercuts or something - but please.

Certain professions absolutely should have mandatory drug testing - school bus drivers, people operating heavy machinery, things like that.

Now, would I turn down a job that required drug testing? No, I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. I would test clean, but I would feel dirty - I'd have a bad taste in my mouth about a company who would require this for the kind of position I would be filling.

It's the employer's right to do so, just as it is my right to go elsewhere. And I would.
