I recently bought a house and with it came a lovely Jacuzzi bath. However it constantly throws out these little black spots of dirt. no idea what it is - I have tried stuff called Bath Spa which apparently cleans the system but it hasn't solved the problem. Any bright ideas?

Jacuzzi bath. Once a month you need to fill it with hot water and place in half a regular bottle of bleach. Cycle it around 20 minutes. Empty, refill with plain hot water and cylce it again. This should clean out all the jets and intake. If not then spray into everything with foamy bubbles type bathroom cleaner -let sit for 10minutes, sprayer attachment to spritz through everything and do another bleach/rinse treatment. Should eliminate the problem.

I did the same, nice bath... hadn't been cleaned out in 5 years or so I think... totally disgusting... did the bleach trick but used a full bottle, filled just above the jets with hot water, set the air intakes wide open for LOTS of bubble action to scrub inside, ran it an hour, let it sit, ran it again, dumped the water, filled it again, ran it to rinse and done!

My daughter had the same problem, and was grossed out at the thought the dirt might be scum from the previous owners' baths.
So she had the jacuzzi replaced with an Aqualisa shower - and has regretted it ever since.

Same thing happened to us, but our home inspector showed it to us during the inspection. This is really gross, but he said it was dead skin/dirt. His reccomnedation was to run the tub with bleach, rince and repeat until all black flakes were gone. I've done it about 15 times and still have a little goo coming out. Huge bummer, but I guess I'll keep trying.
