All of them rely on stealth to install on your machine. The biggest difference between a virus and spyware/adware is that the main goal of a virus is to replicate itself onto other computers in addition to any other damage it's trying to cause. Many of them try to destroy the computer after it sends copies of itself along to others.

Spyware or adware has the goal to gather information or pop up windows on your computer to steal personal data or try and sell you stuff. They rarely try to destroy your computer because that would defeat the prime objective. They also rarely try and replicate themselves. They just try and stay stealthy and evade attempts to remove them.

A virus will basically get on your machine, send itself to as many other machines as it can reach then often try to destroy the one its on. Not stealthy at all.

virus- will encrypt your data stored into your hard disk. It can also harm your hardware.

spyware- simply popups (when you search something, that words of search is sent to the person who shows popups to you).

addware- some registry entries which mostly disturbe a user to do his work.
