I am a huge Lost fan. I would like to know some of your theories about the show. (the others, Dharma, the monster) I personally think there are 2 groups of the others, there are Ben's people and the others I consider to be like savages. Any thoughts about how Danielle or Desmond came to be on the island?

Wow, I have so many theories about LOST, I believe I live there and vacation here!!!
Here's my two cents worth...
I agree...I think that Ben-Others are those that wanted to get away from the horrible experimentation of the Hanso Project people. I believe they feel they do "good work"...life extension, fertility, mind agility...things that make one a better human. I believe they broke away from Alvar Hanso, as he started to delve in to experiments that they were not in agreement on, and things that could not be conducted within the laws of the States.
Desmond got on the island, because he was dating the daughter of Mr. Woodmore...the mogul that has been referenced in Charlie's back stories, as well as Michael's (he used to work for them)..he was supposedly in a race around the world in a boat, and he became marooned on the island...I am sure that someone, somewhere can manipulate the electromagnetic fields around the island (as they always talk about the powerful energy the island emits) which pulled him there.
Danielle Rousseau was on an expedition, where she and her crew were marooned during a storm. They all got "sick" and she remained well, to live out her years alone after her baby was kidnapped by the Others.
As for last night's episode, I thought the brainwashing scenes were awesome. Below you will find a link to screen caps...they shot by so fast I really couldn't see them all.
I hope this helps. I love LOST and think its one of the smarter, more intellectual things on television in a long time.
