Rabbits & guinea pigs should not be fed raw potato as if it is green or left in the hutch exposed to sunlght it will go green and this is poisonous. The green of a potato is the same as the poison in deadly nightshade.
Small amounts of cooked potato can be fed but only small amounts
Potato like this can be used to replace the starch found in rolled oats and flaked maize which are the major constiuents in rabbit and guinea pig foods. All vegatables contain some form of cahbohydrate which is what starch is.

Can Rabbits Eat Raw Potatoes

Not sure about Guinea pigs but rabbits should not eat a lot of starch as they cannot digest it properly. My son found a domestic baby rabbit in the field by our house (probably dumped after being an Easter present and the novelty wore off - some people can be so ignorant). We took him in to be neutered, and the vet said they cannot digest starches. They also cannot throw up. We've had him over 10 years now and I noticed that in some rabbit food they do include some corn kernels but not many.

I don't suggest feeding your bunny or piggie a whole potato. Whenever I use a potato, I usually end up skinning the potato. I then feed my piggie some of the skin! He doesn't eat a whole bunch of it, but a little. I think the SKIN is alright, my piggie hasn't gotten sick by eating potato skin. I'm not sure about potatoes and rabbits (I never owned a bunny) but the skin should just be fine to feed to a guinea pig.

Guinea pig food is fortified with vitamin C because they don't produce their own naturally. Rabbits do and thus their food is not fortified. Guinea pigs really need to eat guinea pig food. If they don't get that vitamin C they can get scurvy. See if your local shelter or rabbit rescue will accept the rabbit food and buy some piggy food for your guinea pigs.

A rabbit should not be fed a potato. A potato consists almost entirely of starch. Starch can very easily cause a rabbit to get diahrrea.

No, rabbits should not eat potatoes. Here's a list of safe veggies (and fruits) for rabbits:

FYI: Apple is on the list, but apple seeds are poisonous, so only feed the fruit part of the apple with the seeds removed.

I don't think so...I had guinea pigs and I always stuck with greens. I would check with your veterinarian.
