It's a great move. I see you hate Americans, so I won't bother answering ya question.

Im not a Liverpool fan, I'm a Man U fan and I feel strongly about a yank buying Liverpool even though I'm not supposed to like them.
They've got a great history and deserve it. Yanks know nothing about football no matter whether they're in the top 50 of the world rankings and are expecting the worlds most famous player go over there and waste the rest of his career playing there to raise the profile of the sport over there. They call it soccer which obviously gives the impression that they know nothing about football. Malcolm Glazer bought our team out and I really hated it purely because he's a yank. So, same here. Liverpool have not won the league in years and in my opinion, to keep the prestige that it has it needs to move on and go forward, so probably this was a right move for it to be bought out so they buy the best players in the world to help them do that. I believe Liverpool have the ability to match and even overtake Chelsea in these matters as only an idiot wouldn't want to sign for a club like Liverpool. But your question is slightly stupid as you should always support your team no matter who owns them.

Liverpool are the most sucessful British team ever, more so than Man. Utd or Chelsea. Unfortunately since the introduction of the Premiership it has all become about the money. Man Utd have been great to exploit their fans over the years 5 different kits one season - I think!
Liverpool will need this sort of investment, as will all other clubs, if they are going to compete at the highest level in the future. As has been said before he may know nothing about football, but at least he has seen Liverpool play which is more than can be said for Man Utd's owner - does he even know where Old Trafford is?
I was born in Liverpool and have lived here all my life - well so far (except a couple of years abroad) and will always support Liverpool. So I guess in answer to your question it is "me for one"

www.fcunitedofmanchester.co.uk This is what!!! some Man Utd fans have done set up their own club they play in the north west counties div 1 but will soon be promoted to the unibond div1 3 steps from the second div and get 3000 fans in a div where the ave gate is 150.
What some of the answers on here seem to forget is that Liverpool and it pains me to say this are a great footbal club but who made them a great football club THE FANS DID!!!!

I'm not a Liverpool supporter. Perhaps they just needed the money. Meanwhile teams like Chelsea and Man U get bought out by foreigners waving money, so it's hardly surprising everybody wants to jump on the bandwagon and make football fair. Arsenal haven't had the cash injection, and are still (easily) thriving in the premiership. A kind of big 'up yours' to Chelski, don't you think?

I'm a Liverpool fan and i disagree with your view. To be fair yank or not yank ( or are you happier with the arab), please give Gillette and Hicks a chance to prove their grounds. Many are unhappy when the Glaziers bought MU, but that was then. Look at the fans now, no one remember the takeover anymore as MU is leading the league now. They are happier than even.
Football has change a great deal from two decades ago. In today's era, competition is becoming stiffer and you can't rely on past records to win silverware anymore. Liverpool hasnt win the league for a very long time as far as I can remember. The current board has failed us. Its time for new management, fresh funds and better players to come in if we want to compete with the likes of chelsea, arsenal and MU.
As a fan, I support the board's decision as I believe its for the good of LFC. One should always look in front and respect the past.

Just because these guys aren't from round those parts don't go mental on them. George Gilette owns the most storied franchise in the NHL (Montreal Canadiens) and has kept up their great traditions, and the fans genuinely love the guy. Tom Hicks also has a great sporting background. They believe in youth and just because they'll sell the naming rights to the new ground doesn't mean they are the devil himself.
Don't get your knickers in a twist and grow up and chill. I'm no Liverpool fan but this is a good move forward for the club and one that had to be made.
Would you prefer to be locally owned and mid-table or owned by a rich businessman who are so rich they aren't in it solely for the money but just want a new venture and to be successful. Both these guys have been successful in everything they've done and have no doubt they'll be successful again here in the Premiership.

Anfield currently hold 40000+ audience, but we build a new stadium at Stanley Park that hold 60000+. Bring out your calculator, 600K more for each match.
John Moores said if he could fund the staudium on his own, he would. What John Moores did just for the good of the club.
EPL is all about money, I do believe in Gillett and Hicks. Nuff said.
