how many sit ups do u recomind and how often
such as how many should i be doing everyday
how many days out of a week should i do them
what is the best technique ?

Crunches are better than doing situps. It's also good to do a mix of ab exercises like regular crunches, oblique crunches, reverse crunches, bicyles, double crunches, and leg lifts. If you did about 10 - 20 of each exercise to start, every other day, that would be good. Once you can do 20 of each (one set), add a second set (repeat all the exercises) -- you might want to drop back to 15 reps at first. Work up to 3 sets of 20 reps. Every other day is fine or you can do abs every day if you prefer, once you get used to doing them.

the common mistake people make is doing a lot of them and with bad form. All u need to do is raise your shoulders a few inches off of the floor, and remember to breathe out.....
