If you are going to Disney, staying "on the grounds" is a must. While many of the other hotels there may offer great deals, if you do not stay in one of the Disney run hotels, you may end up missing out on some of the perks that resort guests are privilaged to. For example, they have Extra magic hours, where one or two of the parks opens early or stays open late for resort guests only. Also, if for some reason they close a park due to crowds, resort guests are still allowed to enter. This has actually happened to me. I was a resort guest, but the people that were waiting to get in and being turned away were pretty upset.

In terms of price, the Disney value and moderate resorts give you a lot of bang for your buck, and the service is still second to none. We have stayed in the All-Stars, Caribbean Beach, and Coronado Springs, and loved all of them. The value resorts have a few more kids and families, and the rooms are a little smaller. The moderate resorts are a little more expensive, but have more than one pool, so you don't always have to go to the main pool where most of the people are. My personal favorite is the Caribbean Beach. When I go with the family in April, we are staying at Saratoga Springs for the first time and can't wait.

Hope you have a great time!!
